The Summer Drylands Programme (SDP) is a two months research methodology course offered by the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia and Gobabeb Research and Training Centre.

The Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DRFN) and Gobabeb Research and Training Centre (Gobabeb Centre) are inviting students and recent graduates from the University of Namibia (UNAM), Polytechnic of Namibia (PoN) and the International Univeristy of Management (IUM) to apply for participation in the Summer Drylands Programme (SDP). Students from all faculties are invited to apply.

The objectives of the programme are to equip Namibian students and recent graduates with experience and capacity in integrated sustainable land management through applied research approaches, critical thinking and problem solving.

The theme for the 2015/2016 course is: Understanding soil respiration and carbon fluxes across the changing climate gradient of the Namib Sand Sea and bordering central Namib plains.

The course will accommodate 10 Namibian students and will run from 23 November 2015 to 31 January 2016.
